I've been wanting a rain shower head for a few years but the price took me a bit by surprise. When this went on sale at the local store, it was my lucky day. My roommates were worried that our shower head was too old to fit a new shower head like this. Not so - it went well. Also, it was very easy to install. In fact, including the time it took me to remove the old shower head and install the Cascadia, the whole thing took no more than 5 minutes. Flexible hose is great. It's strong enough to hold a fairly heavy showerhead even over the head of my 6" roommate with plenty of room, and yet the hose isn't so stiff that it's difficult to move around when we need to adjust it. not such a fantastic thing: 1) There is a flow regulator. Reducing water flow to 2.5 gallons per minute (I think) is required in areas where there are laws restricting water flow. This makes the water pressure very low. However, Waterpik has kindly provided instructions on how to remove the regulator if you are having water pressure issues. (If your water pressure is AMAZING, I recommend taking it off before installing your showerhead.) The instructions are easy to follow, but you'll need needle-nosed pliers to pull everything out, so make sure you have them handy. Also, the pieces you're removing are small, so don't do it over an open drain or anything else that could cause them to get lost. 2) The shape of the water flow leaves much to be desired. I love the fact that there is both a concentrated powerful stream and a torrential downpour. The smaller middle section of the shower head is great for washing out soap from long hair and sponges. However, when using the rain mode, I have a very good feel for the 2-inch center gap. I wish there was a way to turn the entire shower head on at once for rain mode. In general I am very satisfied. happy with my purchase. (I think the fact that I didn't pay full price makes me a little happier.) If you can find it for sale anywhere, buy it. It's definitely better than a regular shower head.
