These makeup sponges are firm but soft and easy to apply makeup. I like these sponges from different angles, and while I don't like the orange and black colors, that doesn't affect their durability or ease of use. I noticed that the black sponge has a different, more open texture. I'm new to using makeup sponges and I'm so glad I'm using them now! Update: After just a few uses, these sponges fall apart and shatter into pieces. The tips and edges are particularly vulnerable. Sponge material is not as durable as it seems! I only do makeup a few times a month and these lips can't even keep up. Not worth the money especially if you use makeup sponges daily.
