I love this thing. Just bought a few more. I haven't set it up for a permanent install yet, but just put it together on a Cat5e patch cord to figure out how to put it together. All internal parts are separate so you can mount them on the cable behind the connector. All I did was cut off the molded cover that fits over the latch on the connector (the part of the cover/strain relief on the cable itself) because it's too big to fit in the closed case when it's done is. Thing is assembled and connected. To help you assemble it without any confusion, carefully take it apart and lay out the inner parts in the orientation they were assembled and take a picture.
