I used this religiously at school, not only for a few games I played (mainly sports games) but also for Netflix, HBO GO etc. However, now that my Xbox Live membership has expired, it's closed become a relic. I find it absurd that in order to be able to enjoy independent programs like HBO GO and Netflix, I have to purchase an Xbox Live Gold membership. Our family had several Wii's around the house and now we use them for Netflix (because it's FREE to use if you already PAY for a Netflix subscription) and we use OnDemand through our cable provider for HBO. Overall, the Xbox 360 looks good, is pretty fast, and has a ton of features, but Microsoft insists on getting every penny out of its users. Other competitors have recognized that if you're making someone pay for a system, maybe you should be covering the extra cost, not Microsoft! I could always get another Gold subscription, but due to the limited number of games I play online, it's not worth using other software. I don't think I'm the only Xbox owner having this problem. If you don't mind the annual membership fee and just want to play the games you love, this system is a must. If it weren't for the ridiculous membership fees and restrictions on using independent software, this review would certainly be a solid 5 stars.
