My third year girl really wanted this one (purple) for her backpack out of all the other ornate ones we looked at. This is a very cool looking or rather old backpack, but here's what I don't like (see photos for reference): 1) The magnetic snaps don't line up with the clasp, even with a full backpack and front strap adjustment. It was a design flaw. 2) "Water Bottle Bags" DO NOT hold Hydroflasks or other refillable water bottles that we have (we have different sizes); However, a standard single-use plastic bottle is fine. 3) The large front pocket doesn't have the usual smaller, organizeable pockets typical of most backpacks (admittedly this wasn't intended for school age kids, but I used mine in college) 4) My daughter said the straps made hers Itchy throat ( I've tried it and I don't have that complaint so probably only applies to younger kids) What I like: 1) it's nicely packaged and looks sturdy; We love the vintage look and leather accents. 2) My daughter loves it despite the cons listed above (hence 3 stars instead of 2).
