SETUP AND OPERATION I choose these when we have guests over for a friendly backyard get together. I chose to leave the solar panel unmounted to put it in the ground somewhere sunny on the day of the event and charge it. We have lanterns hanging on our fence so all we have to do before every garden party is attach a charged solar panel. There is an on/off button so you can keep the charge overnight when you need light. Note: Turning the switch to the ON position does not turn on the light; it has to be dark for the light to come on. The solar panel uses a 18650 battery, which is a regular flashlight battery that can be recharged with the right charger, so you can use these lights even when the sun isn't shining. To charge the battery, remove the two screws from the battery compartment. I was surprised to read that the bulbs are plastic; I thought she was glass judging by her looks. Our guests in the courtyard also commented (unbidden) on how good looking they were. NOTES The ON/OFF switch is not latching and has a short travel, but works properly. Hope that doesn't cause any problems. I will update this review if I encounter any lighting issues by leaving a comment in the comment section.
