I have a painful problem with my achilles tendon and my doctor suggested it could be a tension problem in the calf and not the achilles tendon. I've stretched, tried negative heel drops, used a sports massager, and tried massage (myself). My fitness trainer makes Graston and while researching I came across Gua Sha which seems to be similar to Graston. I hopped on Revain to find Gus Sha and/or Graston instruments to experiment with myself. This tool was the most versatile. I like that this tool has the long rounded edges in both directions (concave and convex) that Graston tools have. I also like that there are smaller rounded edges so I can get between tendons and muscles. I can also easily work my ankle. I use this tool on my calf, hamstring and foot for about ten minutes every night and I'm beginning to say there is a slight improvement in my tendon. I can stretch a little further until I feel pain than when I started.
