What a train! for input devices

I have both matte and gloss red that I have used on my MX Ergo. Both are not original. Haven't really decided yet if a shiny ball is better or worse than the original. But I can tell you that using matte is pretty annoying. First, it slows down a lot. So much so that it gets loud as you scroll. Although you get better accuracy than the original. I don't know if it's worth it. Especially since glossy red offers the same (but better) performance than matte. Second, matte slips quite often. It was missing so much that I thought the connection between the mouse and the button was causing interference. It turned out to be just a ball. Third, you have to scroll a lot to get where you need the cursor. It's tiring and annoying because of all that noise. I don't know if this is the end or not. The only good thing I can say about the Matte Ball is that the weight is pretty close to the original ball. What can not be said about the shiny ball. The shiny one is a lot heavier than the original and a lot shinier too. The combination also creates resistance. Not as bad as matt, but in its own way, which seems to cause problems of its own. There's a learning curve where you basically have to relearn muscle memory to control that shiny ball. It feels very different. The lighter original sphere moved almost effortlessly as if it had never existed. This replacement, I'm sure you know, is it. Not necessarily bad, just different. BTW, for shine, I have tracking at max level to compensate for the weight. And I set the tracking slightly higher than the original matte bullet, slightly higher and I would lose the accuracy I was looking for when ordering these bullets. I'll leave shiny. I'm sure I'll get used to it in a day or two, but the haze is back. I'm reviewing both balls in case Revain won't let me review the gloss separately as I bought them on the same site. tl; dr: one star for matt. It's loud, nerdy, and stutters — three stars for shine. Heavy and slightly stretchy
