Perfect product for any user!

glass was taken to replace the whale (18-55). the main application is a lens for every day, travel, architecture. I needed a wide angle (10-22 was dismissed as very specific). Once again I say - you must be clearly aware of the purposes for which you take this or that glass. yes, portraits on it are not ice, but there are fixes for thoughtful portrait and subject shooting (I personally have 50 1.4). yes, you can’t run after birds and planes with him - but there are televisions for this. yes, it is not fast, but! the main use of this glass with its focal lengths, for me, at least, is daytime travel photography. and for this, a hole of 2.8 is not needed at all (this is if someone has a desire to overpay the top ten for 17-55). tripods were invented for night shooting. By the way, for shooting indoors, the angle is even enough. dark? so for this for a long time already there are outbreaks. and to hope that by the light of a chandelier at home you will shoot eternally whispering kids - well, it's stupid. here and 2.8 will not save. Regarding the price - the question is generally interesting. before buying phoned two authorized dealers. some honestly said that they had glass from a torn whale (7D), without an official Canon guarantee (with a guarantee from their service center), they wanted 24 for it. The second simply said about the same notorious guarantee from their service center, they wanted 26. having estimated that , in this case, you can save money, the glass was not bought from the officials (there is nothing to lose, in principle) for 19.5. I think this price is reasonable. about the assembly - nothing leaves, does not hang out, does not rattle. heavy, in general, especially for those who did not hold Soviet optics in their hands and switched from whale glass)) but, for me personally, the lens is worth it.

Pros
  • build quality, comfortable focal lengths (IMHO), wide angle.
Cons
  • maybe a little overpriced, but more on that below.
