I was looking for a colorful keyboard but didn't have a number pad so I could center the keyboard on the keyboard tray. I found both of these features in this keyboard at a fantastic price! The colors are really so pretty and help me see the clues. With my old keyboard I needed a mini lamp to see the keys when the room was dark. I don't have to program anything for the keyboard backlight. The light only comes on when I wake up the computer. The lights stay on until the computer goes back into sleep mode. I once accidentally pressed a key sequence that caused the lights to go out! But all I had to do was unplug the keyboard and plug it back in. Typing on the keys is very comfortable. On the first day or two I had to adjust to a slight difference from my old keyboard, but it was easy. Note: I'm not a gamer, but this keyboard suits me well.
