Amazing printer, best desktop photo printer

This printer offers amazing performance. It is functionally equivalent to the newer P-440. You can get good results with good inkjet printers, but only aftermarket color printers deliver results that truly look like they came from a professional lab. DPI doesn't matter compared to inkjet - this printer has NO DOTs. If you look at the print under a magnifying glass, you won't be able to find the dots like you would on an inkjet print because there aren't any. Dye-based underprinters are continuous in tone and amazing in appearance. I recommend printing from your PC rather than directly from the printer. Photoshop or any other program will give you great results. When you tell Photoshop what printer you're using, it evaluates the result on your monitor and helps determine if the saturation is too low or too high. That's if you're very picky. 90% of my images print very well without processing. Another advantage of this printer over an inkjet printer is that it contains no ink. There is a tape that looks like yellow saran film. It will never get your hands dirty and never run out of color. There is a bond - when it ends, you change it. And there is ONE TYPE OF PAPER - it's not silly to try different types of paper to get the look you want, just like with inkjet printers. You can get glossy tape or matte tape. If you really don't need matte, just use glossy and you'll be happy. Some of the negative reviews about this printer are mostly due to misunderstandings: 1. The paper is great for 8x10 or 4x6 frames. It's actually larger than 8x10, so if you want 8x10 or 4x6 get some scissors or paper cutters. Simple.2. The ribbon is not loaded correctly? Come on - it's a plastic roller. No messy ink or anything else to deal with. It's pretty easy to load and a lot less messy than any inkjet.3. The print quality is much better than any inkjet printer. If you are not getting better prints I would check the quality of your images.4. Only legacy Smart Media is supported. For anyone interested, I print from the PC and everything works great. It's faster and I have a lot more control.5. Consumables cost LESS than most inkjet printers when printhead cleaning is included, especially for Epson.6 printers. Streaks on paper are dust marks. Color subprinters hate dust. If you leave the paper tray in the printer, it should be dust-free. Leaving it outside allows dust to get in, which can affect multiple prints. Leave the paper in the tray and leave the tray in the printer, problem solved. There's nothing more to say: this printer is cheap to use, produces amazing prints that are waterproof and look like they were made in a lab, and costs less than one inkjet per print.
