I found that the bulb in the cartridge has no play. With some tape to widen the sides of the LED a few millimeters, it fits snugly into the socket. Turned on the lights, walked in the car and intentionally drove over a few bumps to see if the lights went out, but he didn't! So happy that everything worked out!
