I always read reviews of products I want to buy, but I rarely write reviews. If, after receiving a product, I feel that the product description and reviews match the general consensus, I usually do not leave a review. This product does not live up to the reviews I read before purchasing hence this review. I bought clean XL towels to use with my daily facial cleansers and scrubs; Dry your face after cleansing. Mainly to replace other facial cleansing wipes and dry your face after cleansing. This is my first purchase of clean towels. I looked at the photos and comments to decide if I should buy the regular version or the XL version. I chose the XL version thinking they would be regular size 2 wipes or maybe size 1 and 1/2 wipes. I didn't use exact measurements but I'm glad I chose XL as XL was just a little larger than an unfolded washcloth.2. Softness/Durability/Absorption - as I understand it, these are "towels". I thought it was just called "towels" because it fits the brand name. It's literally like paper towels with some fabric/cotton balls as trends, but in a completely wrong way. The fabric is used here in connection with Kleenex or puffs. Let's start with the softness. They were firm and had the texture of kitchen paper towel. Applied slightly damp/wet to the face, the "towel" particles rub/wipe off the face like a wet wipe. White particles all over the face during cleansing and drying. The durability was about the same as a paper towel, minus the white parts of the towel that rolled off the towel like a damp cloth or cotton swab. Unfortunately, the feeling on the skin is very rough, like a scraper from a wool pan when wiping your face. The absorbency is also similar to that of kitchen paper. A small corner gets wet and the "clean towel" is almost completely wet/soaked. I was hoping to use one end of the XL towel to maybe wipe my face or wipe it clean, but even a little moisture and the towel's absorbency expands like cobwebs.3. I confess that I am not familiar with biodegradable products. As a consumer, I understand that using biodegradable products to protect the environment gives a sense of well-being. Again, I'm not familiar with biodegradable products, but these literally stink! The smell is so awful, both wet and dry, literally like a compost heap! Maybe it's part of a biodegradable product, I'm not sure. I clean my face regularly and am familiar with my natural facial oils, the consistency of my cleansers and facial products, etc. If these XL Clean towels get wet and are applied directly to the skin or if the cleaner is applied to a wet towel, the towel will turn yellow! I tested several products with and without, used in different ways and always the same yellow color on the towel. Not sure if this is a normal "attribute" of a biodegradable towel, but it seemed like trying to wash my face or wiping my face with a dirty yellow towel that releases toxins. I'm not sure why the towel turns yellow, but that doesn't happen with regular white washcloths or other cleansing towels when cleaning the face or skin.
