I used these brushes to blend ink when creating maps. I like the variety of brush head sizes I can use when painting through stencils. I tried Vivace MayQueen and Duorime brushes. MayQueen brushes are softer and hold more ink than Duorime brushes. However, if I want to use a different color ink, I can quickly clean the Duorime brushes by rubbing them in a circular motion on a dry paper towel. Vivace MayQueen brushes hold the ink even after a few wipes with paper towels or discarded cardboard. To avoid contaminating the second color with the first color ink, I have to wash and dry the MayQueen brush before using it with the other color ink. It takes too long. If I were to buy enough brushes to have a separate brush for each color I use on a project, I would buy the softer Vivace MayQueen brushes; but I need a brush that cleans up quickly so the students in my class don't accidentally transfer ink from one colored stamp pad to another. If you want to wash your brush, hold it under running water. Place a drop of Dawn dish soap in the palm of your non-dominant hand. Rub the damp brush lightly into the cleaner in a circular motion. Rinse the brush well under running water. Gently squeeze the brush with your fingers. Dry face down on a towel.
