Review on MEE Audio X7 Stereo Bluetooth Wireless Sports In-Ear Headphones Red (EP-X7-RDBK-MEE) by Kristi Erickson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best workout headphones I've ever used!

I only received it today so don't take this rating as a measure of durability (although based on 3 other MEE Audio products I have no doubt). I don't write reviews very often now (poor Revain community support I know) but after getting them today I gave them a try and had such a good experience I had to let others know if they were on the fence . For some years I've used several full-size headphones, two from MEE Audio and one from another company. I like the design and the fit; They are always comfortable and have met or exceeded my expectations for sound quality from budget headphones. However, for years I have longed to go running or work out at the gym without being tethered to my phone or even having my phone with me, all the while listening to my favorite motivational music and keeping track of my workout . Statistics. I bought a new Apple Watch Series 3 LTE last Friday and these headphones should arrive today. As soon as they arrived I replaced the ear cushions with SX200 Comply foam, paired the headphones to my watch and went for a run. I didn't even load them. I ran my usual Monday 5k while my phone was left behind, all alone and alone. The sound quality was really good. These aren't audiophile headphones by any means (I wouldn't say Bluetooth headphones aren't), but I was surprised at how good they sounded when I heard the mix of hip-hop, rock, and pop on my workout playlist. What Impressed Me The main thing that made me want to write this review is its design. First, they fit my ears perfectly. This may or may not help you as ears are like fingerprints, but I think most people will like the design. The cable between them is of good thickness; not too big or too small. All other Bluetooth headsets I've used have had longer cords between the earphones. When running, this cord bounces around my neck, eventually flipping to the right side due to the slightly added weight of the three-button control module. As the longer cable moves to the right, the left becomes uncomfortable; keeps pressing on my neck. The X7 cable is much shorter than any others I've used. In my opinion this is the perfect length. It's just long enough to wrap around my neck at the base of my head without moving at all when I run. For real! He didn't move an iota! I turned my head left and right, up and down, and I could barely feel that there was a wire. The ears didn't pull as well as the cord goes up and over the top front of the ear. If you need to adjust the length of the cord a bit, there is a very small clasp attached to the cord to help you find the perfect length for your head/neck. I didn't have any connection issues during my run. Communication was clear and consistent. To be honest, the combination of the Apple Watch giving me freedom from my phone and the X7 giving me a near perfect fit makes me wonder how I've gotten so many miles with my phone on my in the past arm or my hip. to accommodate something I would say the over-ear portion of the cable could have been a bit more flexible. With other wired headphones from MEE Audio, I'm able to fine-tune the curvature to fit my ears exactly while you get the X7 shape. However, I didn't have any problems with sunglasses either. (I'd also prefer a hard case to a soft mesh bag.) When you're on the fence, hop down, grab the kit, and hook it up to your favorite workout gear. You will not be disappointed.
