I use these tubes to make test tubes for deer, mice and ticks. They are heavy duty and will last longer than TP tubing and paper towel tubing. I soak (soft) cotton balls in permethrin, let them dry, put a half-dozen balls in a 6 inch tube and place them in the woodpile, in the ground cover, around the kennel and in the barn. Note that this is fatal to cats. The basic idea is that mice take processed cotton balls as nest material, line the nest and kill the mites there before dispersing outside the nest. Place new tubes every 2 months. Eventually, the tubes decompose and disappear (unlike plastic tubes).
