Review on πŸ”Œ Spigen 100W USB C GaN II Charger with Foldable Plug - Fast Charging for MacBook Pro Air, iPad Pro, iPhone 13, Galaxy and More! by Nikki Rodriguez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Monstrous charger that doesn't sweat at 100W+

I bought this after trying several other brands of 100W GaN chargers which disappointed me. Both other brands overheated at 100W and shut down repeatedly. Not only was this annoying as it caused the screen brightness and power modes to change in Windows, but it could also quickly drain the laptop's battery health! However, this beauty runs at 100W+ with no issues. I'm typing this on my ASUS ROG GA503QR. I have screen brightness, browser open and, oh yeah, I mine ETHEREUM too! My RTX3070 GPU is currently pulling 80W alone, the battery is charging between 16W and 21W (on the BatteryBar) and the fans are whistling to keep things cool. I easily pull 110-115 watts out of this 100 watt charger. After that, the charger is quite warm on one side for 10 minutes. But it's not uncomfortable to the touch, and it doesn't feel hot enough to hurt anything. RELIABLE SHOP. It's a little bigger than I thought it would be and it's quite snug, heavy for its size. It looks very well made, with a rigid frame, tight joints and a sturdy folding fork. FYI - I connected this charger using these cables https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094N1X9YR which work great. They are fairly flexible, pleasant to the touch and dense plugs. They certainly don't block current flow at full power of 100W+, over 5A at 20V!

Pros
  • Tons of positive vibes
Cons
  • No power
