I actually bought these to use as litter liners in the 18 gallon container I use for my homemade top entry litter box and I needed something thick enough to fit a kitten's claws to keep. These things are THICK and work GREAT! The best way to describe the thickness is that it's like the strong plastic wrap sometimes used to wrap large appliances like dishwashers or similar in a box or around furniture, maybe hair thinner? Very strong pouches, they aren't quite crystal clear just because they are so thick but they are nice and translucent which was exactly what I wanted as my cardboard container is also transparent and I wanted light to get inside. cats; one of them can't see very well anymore. I have to roll up the edges a bit for my particular use as they are so nice and high, but it actually helps stabilize the bag very well. That being said I know they are very good at holding heavier debris and construction debris. without problems. In fact I was amazed at how thick and durable they were but very satisfied! They will definitely be bought again and are definitely cheaper than buying custom cat litter liners which are less than half the thickness and don't work as well!
