The orange hat is as close to safety orange as I've come, the third orange hat I've purchased on Best Buy with the other two being somewhat drab. I needed the brighter orange for walking my dogs in a rural area during hunting seasons and I didn't want to resort to one of the standard unlined skull cap versions that everyone sells. This hat is a nice thick knit cap with excellent fleece lining (very warm) and also has the added benefit of visibility (NOT neon, just distinctively bright). So I'm very pleased with this purchase and will let my friends know about it because they have the same struggle with trying to stay safe while a bunch of day drunk lunatics start shooting at anything that moves :)
