Review on RIDDER Vario Shower Rod Angled Wall Mount/Adapter: Enhancing Your Shower Experience by Pamela Jones

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Recommended with caveats of limited applicability (due diligence required) and high price.

Well it's selling for 5x what it's really worth, $2? 4 dollars? Bubble wrap is probably worth more than the product! Basically it is a ball joint with good design and shape. It is suitable for some corner installations but NOT universal. In my case I have a 64 inch curved shower curtain rod that stretches across parallel walls but with the ends offset. I had to cut the larger end of my telescoping tube rail and glue a piece to the smaller diameter end to accommodate the connector adapter. Then I had to drill and insert steel locking pins (I chose the 304 stainless steel 3/16 inch bar I had on hand) around the entire diameter of the ball joint to carry the external load of the curved track and curtains and a Preventing torsional sag at the joints It can be done, but the stresses on the plastic ball joints are, and may be, being pushed to the limit if one day either my wife or I get carried away with drapery work! But without this product, the solution would be the only one and even more difficult to implement. Okay I came up with the solution above and it worked for over 6 months but what I had to do is a little bit more than the average homeowner wants to do without having above average DIY skills. No doubt the product works easily and reliably in more than simpler layouts than advertised (parallel walls, axisymmetric ends) ON THE MARKET for a customizable ball joint kit that can cost over $20 ollars. This thing fills a narrow need in the absence of competition in a deliberately limited market niche. If you're a DIYer like me, this can solve more difficult corner fastening problems.
