So far it has worked quite well with my hair. A bit of backstory on his condition — it's a long one, but he definitely had a rough time in 2013. I've fiddled with the color on and off, blow-dried it frequently and killed it in the pool with bleach — but I've been a lot in recent years been gentler with it, even though I wash it every day. I also add a few highlights once a month. The ends of my hair were quite frizzy so I gave it a try. I first bought Apogee's multi-tiered product, but it wasn't that easy to use. It's child's play. Whenever my hair gets a little "sticky" at the ends from over-wetting, I use this two-step kit. Not much more difficult than using a deep conditioner after shampooing. I use it about once a month. I have a lot more and it will take a while and my hair is quite long.
