One socket was poorly made - the threaded insert was so thin that when the compact fluorescent bulb was unscrewed it literally came loose and remained attached to the bulb. The metal stamping on the threaded bushing insert was not much thicker than a sheet of paper. There must be a manufacturing defect not found by QC. It took a lot of effort to find a working replacement socket and connect it securely to the light. About two hours of additional repair work. Otherwise the kit does what it says on the tin and it's nice to have a softbox that doesn't work at halogen temperatures. Used it to light up a green screen and got great results. One of the CFL lamps was DOA. Not broken (does not rattle) just does not burn.
