Review on πŸ–¨οΈ GBC Ultima 3000052EZ Thermal Laminating Machine by James Nedumaran

Great product, except.

Overall this laminator is a great product and one of the best we've used. The quality of construction used in the manufacture of this device is very durable and reliable. It won't stick, won't break, and works every time you need to laminate. We have been using this unit for about 2 years now and there are a few downsides to owning this model. The first is the excess laminate that is wasted when you first start a new lamination. There are fine. an 8 1/2" X 11" piece of laminate left over from each job that needs to be cut off and discarded. Second, loading a new roll of laminate can be quite difficult. It's not that easy and can be quite confusing if you don't know what you're doing. I highly recommend watching the video on how to change the laminate. In addition, the heat shield on the front panel leaves a lot to be desired. It takes some wobbling and proper placement for this thing to stay put, but one day it'll be fine. Before downloading, make sure the device has cooled down. I made that mistake once when I took the heat shield off and burned myself. (Not bad, but enough to keep you saying "oh" all day). The cost of replacement laminate can also be a disadvantage, but overall for the price (about $75 per roll) you get a lot more laminate per roll than if you had to buy boxes of individual sheets of laminate. .That being said, I would highly recommend this product to any small business or home office. This is WAAAAY better than using those stupid laminate sheets that require loading one sheet at a time. With GBC EZload you can laminate 50 sheets non-stop. It's quick and easy to use! Once you get the hang of it, this unit will be the last laminator you will ever need to buy.

Pros
  • High test results for hold and durability
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models
