Arrived so quickly! Was pleasantly surprised at the quality for the price. These are two large strips of colorful patterned cotton sandwiched between thin polyester and cotton batting. (No patches joined together like quilting.) Stitching is the solid quilting stitch I've called "meander" in the free motion quilting world. It offers excellent coverage so nothing moves and I haven't seen any loose stitches or snapped threads. A few reviewers mentioned this, so I was prepared to pull out the needle and thread, but it's not necessary. I can only comment on the softness after washing. Beautiful and vibrant colors and patterns bring the whole room to life. Some people mentioned that they thought it was too small. You must try a larger size. It fits snugly on a bunk bed, and I cheated and put it on a full sized bed by lining up the edge of the mattress to the side of the wall (not dangling where it wouldn't be visible anyway). This gave enough extra width so that the visible side hung down and overlapped the bed skirt nicely. Hope that makes sense! The pattern consists of thick and thin stripes, each with its own boho motif, with no repetition, so the overall effect is very rich and colourful. Both sides are good, different but coordinated. I crawled under it to read it and felt kind of warm. I think the 50% poly/50% cotton fill keeps the heat in. However, it's not heavy, so it feels good.
