Tastes like chewing gum but not effective

Our four year old loved nothing but hello watermelon toothpaste so we bought some mouthwash too. Both taste like bubblegum, are fluoride-free, freshen your breath, and have compelling ingredient lists, but I don't recommend either. Lo has gaps between the front and middle spaces, but tight molars and plaque build-up, so we were desperate. The battle between fluoride or not was also a big issue. I questioned the sweetness of both products and their lack of plaque removal, but we were hopeful. Unfortunately, his very famous and very expensive dentist did not agree. She also cautioned that in small amounts without fluoride, xylitol is mostly sugar. He developed cavities and cavities which I not only blame for these foods but among other things I want us to focus on fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash for more targeted and sustainable dental health. I never felt like this product was anything more than sugar water and just as useless. We ended up with C**** Fluoride Gloss and T** Mint Fluoride mouthwash, both of which contain xylitol and taste like bubble gum. LO also uses a specialized toothpaste and is about to sigh. But the plaque has moved, he likes the taste, it cleans and refreshes perfectly. If your child's teeth are in good to excellent condition and you are concerned about fluoride and common ingredients and your dentist flinches at the suggestion, you may want to try this. If none of these apply to your situation, then see your dentist first, or at least try Hello's Blueberry Fluoride Toothpaste and one of their Fluoride Mouthwashes or another fluoride brand before deciding to cancel entirely. She.
