I bought this blanket for my daughter who struggles with anxiety & difficulty sleeping. Though it doesn’t assist in falling asleep, my daughter reports sleeping a lot better with it.The material is very soft & could truly lie directly on the skin if necessary. I bought the 16# weight based on the recommendations found online for people weighing 150-175#
