Revainrating 5 out of 5

One of my best purchases of 2020

Bought for my husband for Christmas as he likes to drink tea during the day at work but I was so glad he was able to start using it that she Gave him as soon as he arrived in early November! He LOVES this tea bottle and has probably thanked me over fifteen times in the past few months for finding it for him! He said it was one of the best gifts he has ever received and he has been using it every day since receiving it. It is easy to clean - it cannot be washed in the dishwasher, but it is not difficult to wash by hand. It's a handy size to be able to clean with a bottle brush and I've thrown the brew basket in the dishwasher many times with no problems. But in any case, I would advise playing it safe and hand washing the cap and bottle. The tea strainer basket is made from very fine mesh, which is great for smaller loose teas (and of course works well for larger loose teas too). ). We've used it with very fine CTC tea and it does an excellent job of not letting in too many small particles, although usually some of this will float to the bottom of the container so it usually spills out on the very last sip. It does NOT leak ANYTHING from the larger Earl Gray blend with liners we use, which is to be expected as the mesh is very thin. As far as leak protection goes, it can be tricky. Personally, I wouldn't risk keeping this upside-down tea bottle next to something valuable, but that's just me. We've found the rubber seal in the cap to have fallen out a few times over the past few months - it's easy enough to get it back into the groove it belongs to, but as it tends to pop out it can be tricky at times too be to get a really tight seal when capping the bottle. There aren't usually any problems, but there have been several times I've had to unscrew it and then screw it back on because the first time it seemed like everything was going to go wrong. We haven't had many issues with it leaking so far, but due to its tendency to not always rotate optimally, I usually make sure it's always upright to avoid any potential tea spillage. As far as temperature maintenance goes, this thing is excellent! I used to make my husband tea every morning before he drove to work, but it was always so hot he couldn't drink it without putting some ice cubes in it to cool off. This turned out to be a problem as the internal size of the bottle is narrower than our ice cubes so I had to break our ice cubes to fit the bottle to chill the tea. Needless to say it was a huge pain in the ass. Luckily, I've found that if I brew my tea right before bed at night and then stick the bottle in the fridge, it's the perfect temperature for drinking in the morning on the way to work. It will still be hot but cool enough to drink - no ice added! The thing keeps hot liquids hot even after about eight hours in the fridge. There are no complaints! I really like the wood grain pattern - it's cool, natural, rough, and my husband loves it! I think if I were to buy one I would choose french granite because I also find this design very beautiful and elegant but honestly no matter which design you choose you will get a quality product. which looks as good as it works. I also really like the moveable handle on the brew basket - it lays flat without getting in the way, so the lid can be easily screwed onto the brew basket. I've also found that I can use a brew basket to brew a second cup of tea (our tea is strong enough that you can easily make two to three cups from around 1.5-2 teaspoons of loose leaf in the basket) by using the handle over that drape a reusable straw and place a straw on top of the cup. You can just toss the brew basket into the mug if you don't want to use a straw, but it's a lot easier for me to just pick up and remove the straw basket than it is to fish it out of the boiling water by hand. . Thanks to the comfortable handle, it's very easy to keep the basket where I want it! Overall I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys drinking loose tea. This is a real game changer for us and it's definitely a quality product at a decent price!
