The scratching post has never let me down. Our cat is delighted. I recommend this if you only have 1 or 2 cats as it's not big. The biggest problem is that since it's so small, it won't stand by itself when the cat starts scratching it, so it will tip over or fall down, and then the cat will get scared and can't use it. This doesn't happen every time, but probably 8 times out of 10 it will. So keep that in mind. To fix this, we either stand on it or put it under the coffee table leg to keep it from falling. Finally we could attach it to the board to make the base much larger. I don't recommend this product if you just don't like the subject matter. At the same time, the quality is not bad, since the rope has not yet unwound and has not fallen apart. Just bad design.
