Once you've put on the ratchet strap, you probably won't want to go back to the regular strap with its widely spaced adjustment holes. So I was expecting good things from this ratchet strap but I had to throw it away. Unfortunately, the manufacturer did not include instructions on how to cut the belt correctly. So I cut off more than I needed without compensating for the distance between the finished end of the strap and the ratchet section. As a result, the belt with the buckle is too tight. I also found that the buckle release lever had a sharp edge and it was very difficult to open the buckle. This is very bad because the leather is good, the color is nice, and the buckle is strong and attractive. The belt also comes in an attractive gift box. I have several suggestions: 1) that the manufacturer place a sizing mark on the back of the belt so users can make an accurate cut; 2) Try on the belt before cutting it and measure the excess length before cutting it; 3) that the manufacturer included sizing and might cut better than my number 2. Anyway, I had to toss this strap into a round file after messing it up. With a little care, others may not suffer the same fate.
