I have no children just two cats with sensitive stomachs and I will need something like this on the bed. So far he's done a good job. Update: August 14, 2am: Woke up with a warm leg. My cat just peed on the bed next to me. Extremely angry and alarmed, I tore off my usual sheets. I was panicking that the cat pee had just soaked into my new memory foam as I walked around trying to wash the sheets and get rid of the cat pee smell. To my surprise, I was able to soak up the remaining cat urine with a paper towel and spray it with an enzyme spray designed to remove cat urine. I sprayed it on twice and let it sit for a few minutes each time before wiping it off. Once that was done, I unzipped the mattress topper to inspect the damage. I'm so glad it didn't invade my memory foam pad. It was dry and didn't smell like cat pee. The mattress protector did exactly what I needed. I plan to buy a second one soon.
