The microphone cable is not properly shielded and will pick up whatever is played through the headphones. This can be very confusing for all interlocutors. If you use it primarily for music and voice control you'll be fine, but if you're on the phone all day at work, don't pick this cable - everyone won't like it. The manufacturer can fix that. A combination of wire replacement and shield insulation. You need three conductors for audio and one shielded conductor for the microphone. You may need to add a 1k resistor and a tiny capacitor (in parallel) between the microphone shield and the ground connection at the end of the jack to completely eliminate this crosstalk. It takes a little effort to get something that works and doesn't fiddle with the built-in controls of common headsets. Since I couldn't find another cable like this one, I can try to modify it.
