I've been using this camera for a few months and found the optical zoom a great feature. If you are looking for a cheap camera with great features, this is your chance. You won't be able to get the super effects that a $1,000 camera can, but this one is great for simple, pinpoint shots. This isn't a very light camera and the battery life isn't that great since we're talking about AA batteries. . But if you have rechargeable batteries like I do, it helps a lot. I also have an extra pair of batteries if I need to shoot for a long time. Be sure to read all the features beforehand. If they write in the review that the camera charges the flash in a few seconds, that's true, so if you don't like it then don't buy this camera, but if you don't mind then go ahead and make a purchase. I knew I would have this flash problem but it didn't bother me so I bought this camera. One little thing I don't like is the hole for the battery and memory card. It's not easy to open and I'm afraid it might break at some point. I would recommend this camera.
