I was really nervous that this might smell strange since it's made from eggs, but to my surprise the smell is pleasant and faint. The mask is very thick. The consistency is similar to Desitin baby diaper ointment. Don't let that put you off as you can easily remove it with a damp cloth when you're ready to take it off. I use a soft "fluffy" washcloth to avoid stretching the skin. It just doesn't wash off with water. I liked that my skin felt fresh and moisturized. I use it about once a week and like it a lot.
