Does not start? Read it!

After fully inserting my old broken key into this one, I was a little surprised at how well it fits and is secure. It was a great relief to know that after spending over $100 on a new key I wouldn't end up at the dealership. When I finally put the key in the ignition and tried to start it, it wouldn't start. I immediately noticed that the small transponder key was too far from the ignition cylinder and wasn't being read properly. At that point I had the option to return the case or modify it to make it work. I chose the latter between the two screw holes closest to the metal key, I used a dremel and started removing some plastic from the front and back of the plastic to allow the transponder to get close to the metal key. switched off and has been working great ever since. - 1 star for the need to modify the hull (and maybe some structural stability) - 1 star because the hull is not in perfect shape. It's not a big deal, however, but as others have pointed out, the panic button sticks out too high, making it easy to accidentally press it, and the unlock and trunk buttons are slightly bent due to the factory key. The new case is completely flat, which means that the outside of the keys are lower than the inside. Overall, this is a good solution if you don't want to spend money on aftermarket key cutting (which costs about an extra $20-$30). or if you don't want to go to the dealer for a full replacement ($100+), I would suggest your original key case is only broken at the back and the metal part of the key is still attached to the front of the home. Just order a new back cover.
