Do you remember lava lamps? I still have one and it was fun to look at. Mine, however, has seen better days as hardly any lava flows. I saw this "aquarium lamp" at Revain and thought it might be a good replacement. The first thing I noticed is that it's bigger than I expected. Assembly is very easy and instructions are included. There is an open rubber cap at the top, so fill the tank with water (manufacturer recommends distilled water) and add a few drops of dish soap. There are a few light "jellyfish" that are inserted through the same feed hole from above. Turn on and they're off. Floating and movable tank with a small fan and a colored light at the bottom, closed with a transparent plastic window. The lamp also comes with a small remote control. There are no instructions on how to use it, but it's pretty easy to figure out. You will also need 2 AAA batteries. It controls flow rate (flash, strobe, fade, smoothness) and color change options. I'll point out a few things. The overall height of the lamp is about 14 inches, of which about 10.5 inches is for the water tank. Its diameter is about 5.5 inches, so when filled with water, the cylinder is quite heavy and needs to be placed on a stable surface. The packaging states that the product is not intended for children under 3 years of age due to small parts. It also says "not recommended for children under 12". It also means "14+". On the Revain website you can see two girls looking at the lamp. They look like 4 or 5 years old. So I'll leave it up to you which statement is true. I don't have young children or grandchildren around so that's not a problem for me. I have no other reservations. The product works as promised. It has some great color combinations and has an intriguingly calming effect if you look at it for a while. It can also be used as an interesting night light. Another nice feature is the automatic shutdown after 4 hours. yes i enjoy it highlighted.
