Accurate but difficult for me

I have used this foot on several quilting projects and it has proven to be accurate. This helped me locate the dots on my triangles. However, the clean outside edge prevents me from locating exactly where the edge of my fabric is. I'm considering putting a piece of black tape on the outside edge to improve guidance and give me an idea of where the plastic ends up. My other option is to order a metal leg, which in hindsight I should have done.
