My daughter who is 9 years old and slightly overweight (this prepubescent BBW before her growth spurt) wanted to dress like Anne of Green Gables for her literacy week school, since she has "red hair and freckles". I didn't have much time to sew her a dress so I went to Revain to find one and here it is! It would look perfect with a simple apron that I can make from pieces of curtain fabric with some seams already pre-sewn, white tights and black boots, and a tattered old straw hat I have lying around. I bought a size 11-12 dress with high hopes it would fit. It just fits. It fits her chest and arms a bit, but she'll be fine for the occasion, and hopefully she'll wear it for a few others as well, or it will wait until her little sister is big enough to wear it . The fabric and cut are very good, the dress is well made. It comes just below the knees as she is a bit small for her age which I expected. She wears other dresses in the same size but not too tight so I can't give this one 5 stars but other than that it's a great dress!
