I should have heeded another review that warned me thought I might find out but no. I don't know about Windows, but this thing works on macOS. no Work. General. Tried with multiple Macs (made between 2011 and 2018), multiple versions of macOS (10.2, 10.13 and 10.14), multiple scanning software (Photoshop, VueScan and Canon's own downloaded IJ Scan utility) and multiple cables (bundled and my own ). The scanner is sometimes recognized as a connected device. But it doesn't scan or preview at all. No light, no sound, no movement. VueScan sees it and recognizes the model number, but I don't think it's officially supported at this time. I can't imagine Canon testing this with Mac at all and it's annoying that they claim Mac compatibility, just a huge waste of time. Epson has its own problems, but at least their scanners can work with Macs with a little effort. Not sure why making a no-fuss scanner is so difficult, they were terrible while making them and never seem to get better.
