The first thing to note about the pillows is that they are not real leather, not even faux leather. The texture is almost the same as soft cotton, while most faux leather has a shiny, waxy quality that makes it comparable to real leather. That being said, I prefer these pillows the way they are. I like that they are not real leather because they are uncomfortable to sit on. They are soft yet have the lovely feel of rich, warm brown leather. This is a cover only, so buy a pillow insert to stuff it. IKEA has good and cheap ones. I have these pillows as an accent on my green velvet couch and they work great! For the price I think they are wonderful!
