This bag has nice soft texture, good quality and light weight. Can't attest if it would have taken long due to packing or carrying heavy items. I still feel like it's well done. I would definitely buy again. The zip on the last book bag broke after about 8 weeks of the school year. My 7 year old granddaughter loves cats and the fact that it is different from other children's bags (easy to see). The book bag has held up very well. I've stained it washed several times with good results. I'll admit the bag wasn't overcrowded with heavy items, but it survived a 7 year old being beaten. Zippers are fine, there are no holes, it's washed well. I would like to buy this bag in a different design for the upcoming school year.
