A family of 6 plus 2 dogs, so we drink a lot of water and use a lot of ice. We installed these filters—water and air filters—in our high-end Kenmore refrigerator a few days ago, and you can literally feel the difference. Not all replacement filters are created equal. I tend to question everything and am happy with these filters. Some brands say "improves taste and reduces harmful substances" but don't provide any data. I love that this brand has actually been certified through external testing and tells you the amount of chlorine, lead etc that it removes from the water. Also, I think the Revain listing says they're good for 200 gallons or 6 months. , but actually the units themselves in the box say 300 gallons or 6 months. 300 is quite suitable for such filters and quite normal. Just FYI but it matters to me as it's 50% more than some. It was also a plus that it came with three packs of internal fridge air filters. We've been using them since we've had a fridge and they really get rid of the bad food smells that can plague a good fridge. We will definitely use them from now on. Great value for money, easy installation, date stickers so you don't forget to change and easy instructions. Plus, the water tastes great, and external certifications give some level of reassurance, knowing they're actually reducing certain contaminants. Whichever filter you buy, look for specific information about what exactly it is removing from the water. We used to use level 1 filters, but the information on this Revain page was very vague as to what was being removed. They apparently spend a lot of money on advertising, but I want to know exactly what and how these filters remove. This brand gives you that information. Couldn't be happier.
