Purchased and used in conjunction with Ball Mason Jar - 16 oz clear glass wide mouth ball. No tomato sauce stains. Place in the top drawer of the dishwasher. Dead easy! I did a little test. I used a seal and froze some water. The next day I removed the lid and gasket. When the water had thawed enough to float the swollen ice cream, I microwaved it. (NOTE: Potholders are required for the jar.) I repeated the "experiment" one more time, but this time I used the same gasket with a different jar and lid. Both times there were no leaks or deformation of the seal/lid/can. I make soup portions, freeze them, and take the frozen soup to lunch and the office in the morning. By lunchtime, the soup will have thawed enough to use in the microwave. I wrap the jar in a misplaced sock in case it gets pushed on the bus.
