, I'm updating my reviews. The problem I was trying to solve was connecting 3 monitors to an Evga GTX 760 graphics card, one of which went through a VGA KVM. The problem is that after installing the VGA/Analog drivers, the signal is disabled when a digital (HDMI and/or DVI-D) monitor is connected. So you need to use some kind of digital to analog converter. Windows looks at the signal from your monitor to decide what can be displayed and of course periodically checks for monitor changes to enforce HDCP. So if KVM does not simulate a signal for all PCs connected to it, Windows reconfigures (encrypts) ALL your windows when you switch to another PC. As far as I can tell, almost no KVM gets this right, but if you have an older graphics card it may not poll either, so you won't notice. If you're looking for an adapter to connect your latest computer to your KVM, I'm sorry to say that you're probably looking at a hopeless case. I finally found this post[.] describing the problem. Now for the reviews: This is for my 27 inch main display on my main computer where I do most of the day programming and video editing so it should be easy to read. . All adapters are easy to install and easy to open, all made of cardboard, the packaging fits perfectly without a lot of extra liners or wraps. I started with StarTech. com DVI2VGAE worked fine. Nice clear picture until I switched to KVM. Now I know this means it worked correctly but didn't solve my problem. Then I got tired of HD2VGAE2, which has no KVM issue but lacks the crisp DVI2VGAE video conversion, making it too blurry to use as the main display. with a resolution of 1920x1080. Although it may be suitable for less demanding users. So I tried HD2VGAA2 thinking it might give me the best of both worlds as it is powered like DVI2VGAE. But the problem with KVM is back. Although the picture is almost the same as that of DVI2VGAE. Can definitely be used as the programmer's main display. So I would suggest using DVI2VGAE if you are DVI-D capable, but HD2VGAA2 if HDMI is your only connection. Now I know what it means that it worked correctly but didn't solve my problem.
