The educational idea of this garbage truck was extraordinary. They just couldn't get it to work properly. Aside from being age appropriate, a rear loader is a challenge. Cheap plastic tabs break, and the trash shredder (which sends the cardboard sticks to the compactor) doesn't do its job. Gears get stuck and rarely send "junk" into the container. I would say that the overall look of the truck is solid. Kids will love this for a minute until they realize it doesn't work properly. They are made to feel like my kid is playing with the pogs right now and sorting them into color coded jars.
