Review on ๐ŸŽฎ eXtremeRate Glossy Chameleon Green Purple Back Plate for Nintendo Switch Console, NS Joycon Handheld Controller Housing with Full Set Buttons, DIY Replacement Shell for Nintendo Switch by Andrew Enriquez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality replacement case

Case set was fantastic. I have used BASSTOP joycon skins in the past and have found them to be better quality and easier to work with. The extra screws that come with it are also much better than the BASSTOP and even the Nintendo Triwing screws. Additional buttons are attached to the form (or whatever it is called) and need to be cut out. If you plan to use them, you may need to file them down a bit to keep the buttons from sticking. However, I didn't find anything special about it, so I used the original Nintendo buttons. I've noticed that the home button in these skins doesn't seem to protrude as much as it does in OEM skins, but not in a way that's unusable. The only issue I had with installation was a stripped original Nintendo screw that had to be drilled out of the console to remove the back panel. Not sure if it was me or the quality of the screwdriver that came with it, but if you already have a better quality screwdriver it might be worth not being as lazy as I am and actually grabbing it. But that can only be me, so I don't rate it. Overall, the shell looks and feels great. The NES graphics on the back appear a little more washed out than we'd like when examined very closely, but not enough to be noticeable from a distance. While the choice between this and BASSTOP should ultimately come down to design preference, given the lack of translucent shells here I would recommend the eXtremeRate shells in terms of quality as long as you see a pattern you like.
