This lighter is pretty damn near perfect! I use it primarily to melt the ends of paracord projects, so I needed a small, reliable flame with a single point jet that I could easily control with one hand. All this plus the fact that it's stylish. It comes in its own little padded gift box so it's well protected during shipping and I felt like I'd just received a gift! Win. It also comes with an instruction manual which you should definitely read before using. Most of the problems I've read about in other reviews can be avoided entirely by reading the instructions. I had no trouble filling it with Ronson butane fuel and it has a small viewing window so you can see how much liquid is in it. It's a small tank but it lasts longer than I expected. The flame is adjusted with a small screwdriver at the bottom. They recommend not setting it to extreme values, otherwise it won't work. I tested the setting for almost the shortest flame and found that it would take 2 or 3 attempts to ignite. A little higher, and every time it lights up on the first try. He also has a cigar thing, which doesn't tell me anything, but I took a picture of it in case anyone is interested. Last but not least, it has a locking mechanism that allows you to keep your hands free from the burning flame. Be sure to gently set it in an upright position and keep a close eye on it. It stands up well, but it doesn't automatically shut off if it tips over. Also, it doesn't block anything when the lighter is off, so it doesn't have a fuse at all. As with all lighters, keep them out of the reach of children. And probably some adults too. I'm just saying.
