Every pen I've used worked the moment I touched the paper with it. It doesn't take much sketching to get them going. The yellow is really bright yellow. I used to have a set with a yellow that was barely visible on the paper. The color spreads well. The only problem is that there is no light blue or light pink. The feather looks like it would be light, but it was dark. I'll just have to remember that next time. The 0.4 tip is ideal for small areas. I would give 5 stars if there was a real light blue and pink. I really wish I could see through the barrel so I know when to run out of ink and when to order more.
