These gloves are nice and comfortable and they generate good heat. I have a couple of other pairs of heated gloves, and these are a little softer material making them feel less stiff. But that might make them a little less durable too. For me, I like the feel and am not concerned about durability. It hasn't gotten cold enough to really put these to the test, but I did test them by taking a walk outside in breezy 30 degree weather and intentionally letting my hands get cold and then seeing if the gloves could warm them back up. Here's what I did:I turned one glove on high and left the other glove shut off. I started my walk without wearing either glove. My hands were out in the cold and after about ten minutes when they were pretty chilly, I put the gloves on. The glove that wasn't turned on felt cool everywhere inside, as expected. But the glove that had the heat on felt warm in all fingers as well as the thumb. So, the conclusion is that these gloves really generate heat – a lot for the fingers and maybe a bit less for the thumbs. And a comment on sizing. I think I have pretty average men’s hands with the following measurements: circumference of palm just above thumb joint = 9”; full hand length from bottom of palm to tip of middle finger = 7.5”; middle finger length = 3.2”. According to the size chart, that should put me on the Large size. That's what I ordered and they fit well. I've also found that most gloves like this have a pinky finger that's just way too long, but these are different. The pinky finger is actually the right length! Because of that and the general less stiff feel, these are my favorite heated gloves. Two minor gripes that don't lower the rating. One seems to be common to all of these heated gloves and that is that the battery connector plug is pressed right up against the side of the battery pack. That makes it hard to grip the connector plug to pull it out of the battery. You have to be careful not to pull on the wire and damage it. Gripe #2 is that it's hard to see the red/blue/green power light outdoors. It's not very bright and the little white bars across the top are all always on – they don't indicate power level. And one last comment. Many of these warm clothing products say they are made with "cotton”. The box for these gloves even says "3M Cotton” with a tag on the glove that says "3M Thinsulate”. But Thinsulate is a polyester insulation. There is no cotton and in fact, cotton would be a bad choice for insulation because it loses all insulating capability when it gets wet or damp. I think it's just a translation issue where the manufacturers call any fluffy material "cotton”, not realizing that cotton means a very specific fiber in English. Anyway, the gloves are good. The box is incorrect.
