Here's the thing. From the start this product wasn't a successful purchase but I tried to persevere. On the first day of assembly, the piston does not work properly. You can raise the seat even when there's nothing on it, but any push will lower the chair to its lowest position. After trying to contact Vertagear Product Support and waiting over two weeks with no response (I finally got a response, inquiry started in late August to finally get a response in early October). Try sending it back than just worrying about it. The chair was comfortable enough, it seemed like a small price to pay. Amazing customer support Revain even gave a discount and everything was fine. Boy was I wrong. In February, just five months after the purchase, a new problem surfaced. I lean back in my chair and it immediately goes to its lowest position. The rocking mechanism is only on the right side of the backrest. After dismantling, I found that it is a solid steel construction. However, the teeth that allow it to be locked in different positions are so close together that they act like a saw, grinding down the pin that's supposed to hold them. So now the seat can't support any weight without recline straight back into bed mode. The spring is still intact, but without the pen the chair is useless. Other Complaints. The points of articulation on all the knobs were weak and constantly shifting. You won't be able to lock them in place once you find a comfortable spot. Although there were buttons on the handles designed to unlock the latches to allow movement, they seemed to be for show only. The pillows meant for lumbar support were always in odd places and it was hard to make sure they didn't move. Because of their height, the neck pillow was useless or defiant, insecure. Full Verdict: This product should be avoided at all costs. The company has practically no service department. The chair is cheaply constructed for the price paid.
