The felt base does not allow details to slip off. Parts can slip off if not connected to anything. The only downside is that if the landscape design puzzles are (horizontal) they fit well and the portrait or vertical puzzle should face differently to fit the easel. it's a pain Another disadvantage is that 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles may not be suitable.
